“Designed for People”

FG Stijl brings clients 23 years of international experience and involvement in some of the world’s top hotels and restaurants, from the award-winning Park Hyatt Vienna to Design Hotels’ members such as Sir Nikolai Hamburg and Market Street Hotel in Edinburgh.   We are committed to applying best practice international standards to our projects, while also differentiating each property through tailor-made interior design and novel thinking.

Our clients are benefiting from our team’s extensive international experience and local insights from our office in Amsterdam.

Growing up and studying in England, Colin P. Finnegan was inspired from an early age by visits to museums and palaces. This led to his study of interior design from an architectural perspective, with additional studies in Egyptology which culminated in travels along the Nile. In 1989, Finnegan moved to The Netherlands where he freelanced with various architectural offices before setting up FG stijl in 1995.

The first decade produced a prolific body of work, the culminating in Amsterdam’s award-winning The College Hotel, which opened in 2005. These efforts secured the Prix Villégiature award for ‘Best Hotel Interior Design in Europe’. A decade later (2015), FG stijl reclaimed the prize with the flagship Park Hyatt Vienna dubbed as “Pearl of Vienna” for the Best Interior Design for a Hotel in Europe.

From these strong foundations, we have continued the growth of FG stijl as a full service interior architecture company commissioned to work on major hotel brands such as Kempinski, Mandarin Oriental, Hyatt, Jumeirah, Sheraton and Emaar. To add to the collection, multiple iconic boutique hotels have been handpicked and featured in “The Design Hotels Book”. FG stijl’s designs can also be found in exceptional private residences around the world, landmark projects such as BMW Welt and the Albertina Museum Vienna, and Summum, the private jet lounge at Schiphol International Airport. Restaurants and bars including Michelin’s Bib Gourmand as well as Michelin 1, 2 and 3-star restaurants, and Matsuhisa Restaurant for Nobu. Continuously designing and creating innovative and timeless hotels. New upcoming hotel projects namely: Andaz The Palm Dubai, Market Street Edinburgh, Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich, Crowne Plaza Dwarka New Delhi India, Vida at Dubai Mall.
